There is a very interesting post I found here. The discussion focuses on the relationship between astronomy and faith. Some of the thought-provoking questions include: Does the study of the laws of the Cosmos bring us closer to or farther away from God? Does the Big Bang theory support or contradict the vision of faith based on the biblical creation account?
The post is a translation of an article from L’Osservatore Romano. The interviewee is Fr. José Gabriel Funes, the Director of the Vatican Observatory. Fr. Funes argues that “the existence of other worlds and other life, even more evolved than ours, can be accepted without this interfering in the discussion the faith of creation, the incarnation, the redemption.”

Honestly, if we believe that God created the world, then what stops Him from creating others? That doesn’t impact our faith because Christ still died for us. He probably showed his plan of salvation for other worlds in different ways. Nothing is impossible with God!
Why not, I don’t see a conflict with evolutionism and creationism. Heck, I don’t even have a problem with M Theory and creationism. Maybe I’m crazy, but I see a mesh instead of conflict.
I’m reading a very interesting book right now, Modern Physics and Ancient Faith, by Stephen Barr. It makes the argument that the 20th century discoveries of physics, such as the Big Bang and quantum mechanics provide support for the Christian belief that God created the universe. The more physicists learn about the nature of the universe, the more Christian the universe looks.
What I really find interesting is that they modify their views over time. But at anytime, they hold the ultimate truth…
I’m looking forward for the day that they say: “We are still learning, don’t take everything for granted”
There has been a lot of progress regarding this subject, and I personally believe it started with the Disclosure Project National Press Club in Washington.

I find this very informative information about cosmos/galaxy/universe interesting topic to learn more is not bad. Knowing we are always on the move finding new things ideas. But it does not change my FAITH at all.
I agree with the other commenters. If God created everything, then why can’t he create other creatures too?
The universe is so vast and wide and I firmly believe that life exists beyond our planet. In the part of God ALmighty, there is nothing impossible for Him even to create life beyond the borders of our solar system.
